Was the worst experience I've ever had. Friday there was a cute 4month old shep mix for adoption. Went down to adopt her, and she was "out at an event". Ok no big deal, the lady told me to come back Saturday at 1pm -4pm. Well the shelter isn't even open at those hours. Went back today (Monday) and was told that she is a "rescue only" dog. Yet no one there (3 of them) could tell me exactly what that means or why I couldn't adopt her. One fat lady was on her personal cell phone the entire time, an old man had no idea they even had dogs there to adopt and had to go look at their website and eventually told me I'd just have to wait till the fat lady decided to get off her phone, and a younger fat man was an absolute dick. Wouldn't answer any questions I had just said all the dogs they had for adoption was in the room behind us.

Waste of time! I have went up to the place 3 times to get a puppy with my 3 kids that we have seen posted on there website. Every time they give all the puppies to a rescue group. That's false advertising. Today me and my kids waited and waited to get a puppy and the rescue lady was rude and ugly and took all of the puppies just to make a profit she said I could buy them from her in two weeks for more than triple the price TOTALLY BS. Not fair to my kids.

We saved a lovely little dog. The people were nice and informative. The rescue only dogs have already been planned for adoption. Considering the circumstances it is good for them to do.

Being a newbie to the area I needed assistance with getting my pet spayed. I called, within 1/2 hour I received a call back and a voucher. I cannot thank them enough for their assistance.

This animal shelter is the cleanest. It was completely spotless and smelled like the fresh outdoor air. The staff members were so nice, and I will never forget my visit yesterday. I love my new grey cat. It is very safe at the shelter, and the shelter has a fenced entrance, as well. I liked that they have a heavy door that can be closed between the dogs section and cats section so that it is not noisy, or scary, to the cats. Harnett County should be proud of their animal shelter. I know I am. God bless you for all you do for the animals! Thanks, again. Also, the staff wore comfortable and professional uniforms marked staff. There were people waiting to adopt, and all of the people walked out having adopted animals. It was heavenly! Elizabeth T.

It was absolutely ridiculous the way this place is. If your gonna work at a shelter, at least make an attempt to adopt your dog's out instead of not giving a damn. And this is a VERY high kill shelter, they won't keep an animal longer than a week.
